Hello everyone! I want to try something a bit different for the design of the next map that will be added to sandbox mode in Pixel Soldiers: Gettysburg. The picture below shows how it looks right now, and is incomplete for a reason. I want to finish the map based on ideas and suggestions from you guys. I’ve not set my heart on the design of this map, so feel free to let me know how you would like it to look.
As it stands the map has a river that flows across the map. I thought it would make it more interesting to have one flank closer to the river than the other. There is a bridge in the centre that holds the Victory location star. There is little cover around the bridge itself so defending it for the entire battle will be difficult. The river is also fordable on the far left or far right. The armies start at the top and bottom of the map, equal distance from the bridge.
So if anyone wants to give suggestions on changes then let me know in the comments below or Twitter or email if you prefer.
Thanks for your help,
Kris

Perhaps adding high ground in top left and bottom right as a place to fall back if enemy gains a crossing. A place to make a final stand.

Thanks Jeffrey, I’ve uploaded an update.

What about making a city in the center on both sides of the river?

Thanks, just uploaded the new look. Originally I thought to have the area around the bridge to be difficult to defend, but I’m open to ideas 🙂

Looks good at the center! Those fords below high ground will become killing grounds on the flanks. Will need extra men for operations on this map.

Thanks Jeff, this map will be released with the 1.02 update which will be coming real soon. The update includes the ability to have much larger armies than was previously possible in sandbox. And a few other things 🙂

Thanks Bob. I’ll think about that idea for a future map.
