KeymasterBreaching works again with the latest beta, but seems to be not as effective as it was before. I’ve made some changes to the attack algorithms, and I still need to do some fixing. I’ll send out a new update soon!

ParticipantTexture for debris after destruction of tanks, planes and ships should be implemented. That’ll increase the degree of realism.

KeymasterInteresting idea. Thanks! 😀

ParticipantI believe there still is a problem with artillery and breaches. I tested breaching with artillery, bombers and tanks(?). I focused them solely on one village but it took a ridiculous number of shots to just reach the 0.3 breaches mark.

KeymasterSorry. Will be rolling out a new update today with a bunch of changes to do with tanks and breaching. Thanks for letting me know.

ParticipantArabian units for the Entente will be a nice addition to the Great War. Majority of the Arabs revolted against the Ottoman Empire during the war and played a key role in bringing it down. Arab Infantry, Veteran Infantry and Cavalry are the distinct troops that can be added into the game.

KeymasterAdmittedly I don’t know all that much about the Arabian units during the war. I’ll look into it.

ParticipantWill the beta be updated again and when will the official The Great War updates be released?
March 18, 2019 at 2:31 pm #1410Kris
KeymasterYes there will be another beta before the official update. Still a few problems need resolving before an official update. Hoping not too much longer. I know it’s been a while!

ParticipantI believe the Italian Arditi Unit should be added to the game.
The Italian Arditi were shock troopers that were actually not based off German Shock troopers believe it or not! They wore black uniforms and had a do or die mentality in every battle they fought with their motto being “Either we win, or we all die”. Fun fact, they were copied by Benito Mussolini for his Blackshirts. This would be easy to implement as a Shock Trooper for the Italians and perhaps used in an Italian-Austrian Battle if one is ever implemented in the Campaign.

KeymasterThat is a nice idea, and thanks for the history! So put them in the game as Assault infantry?

ParticipantYes. Just a new spirte for the soldiers of course. Got to show the Italians some love!

ParticipantI’d also like to note some images and paintings of them have them in green like the regular infantry instead of black. I wouldn’t want to misguided you and jeprodize the historical accuracy of the game so perhaps independent research would prove beneficial

KeymasterI’ve yet to find any information about Arditi wearing black. It seems they were able to personalise their uniforms, but generally they seem to wear grey-green. If you find any other information on this, please let me know!

ParticipantThe Arditi Uniform started out as Black or Dark Green later in the war however, they were changed out for the grey green uniforms. Also like to mention they were very fond of knives and grenades rather then using rifles and sub machine guns(quite the daring ones!) Regardless, I would be over-thrilled to have them implemented and hope this becomes a fan favorite for the community!
