Since the thread hasn't started yet, why not start one now by posting some ideas for future games.

Personally, I'm rather keen on two particular things.

The first would be a game set during the Anglo-Maratha Wars. Ever since I read the Sharpe series, the setting has been so curious and it's never really discussed much or seen in media or video games. The battle of Assaye during the second war would be quite a spectacle to see.

Secondly, owing to a very generous book lending spree, I've been reading a lot about the wars of Alexander of Macedon. A campaign following his conquests across the globe would be a pretty epic thing to play. We could even play his opponents during critical junctures of the war and maybe see a totally different perspective of the war. Actually, I'll go ahead and add the Punic wars to that list as well. Who doesn't want to see a Rome/Carthage battle?

Anyway, I'm curious to see what other people think/want.

The Sharpe series is brilliant! The books and the show! The Anglo-Maratha Wars is something I've not thought about. Could be interesting. Ancient battles I think will also work really well as a Pixel Soldiers game.

The Anglo-Maratha wars are part of my cultural heritage since ethnically, I'm descended from a group of warriors that my family claims fought against the English during that time.

It's a great period for warfare since you have large field set piece battles but also really great examples of siege craft, both in terms of defence and in terms of storming fortifications.

Thanks Emilio, that's very interesting. It's not a conflict I know very much about, but I'm happy to research it as a possible candidate for a future game. šŸ™‚

A huge part of it really the dynastic struggles of Indian politics as it's essentially English backed princes fighting other princes for control of the land. Mix in some religious conflict between Hindus and Muslims and so on and you have a very interesting setting within still, a largely napoleonic setting

I would be in favor of ancient campaigns, or those from the Middle Ages:

    – Phillip II and Alexander the Great, as mentioned
    – Rome vs. Carthage (or the Germanic tribes)
    – Hundred Years' War
    – War of the Roses
    – Thirty Years' War

What about the War of 1812, otherwise known as the Napoleonic Wars. One of my favourite topics, next to the American Revolution. I wouldn't mind another American Revolution game either. A cool idea would also be a game set in the medieval game or a game set in Rome times.

I am a huge American Civil War fan, can we expect more from that era? A new game, scenarios, or other interesting updates. Huge fan of Pixel Soldiers though, bought all of them.

I do intend to revisit the American Civil War at some point. If you have any ideas that will make a great set of scenarios then please let me know. šŸ™‚

    Thanks for supporting the games!

Probobly nothing that you have not already considered or been recommended. Pixel Soldiers Antietam would obviously work well with your format. Scenarios like Sunken road, the cornfield, and the bridge I forget the name of. A grab bag of different battles like you did with the Great War would also be fun. Fredericksburg is probobly one of my favorite battles and, being from Tennessee, I would love to see Shiloh or Chickamauga. I honestly spend most of my time in custom battles however and just seeing that updated would be great. As a side note when do you think you will tell us about your next project and will we be able to buy it in advance to beta test it?

Thanks for the ideas. Antietam is one of the earliest battles I ever studied (the bridge you’re referring to is probably Burnside Bridge). There will be more battles added to the sandbox mode. I’m still currently working on an update for the Great War game which is still in beta and I’m not sure exactly how much longer it’s going to take. The beta testing is going well so I will probably release an early access or a beta to try before I fully release the next game.

Not sure yet. I’ll see how things stand after the Great War updates are released out of beta.
